Intec Performance Gear was founded by two seasoned equine industry veterans,
Frank Plastino and Izzy Strauss.
The Plastino family has been crafting equestrian caps and helmets for nearly sixty years.
In 1986 Frank founded International Riding Helmets, which has been at the forefront of
rider safety ever since. Frank is an original member of the American Society of Testing
and Materials (ASTM) committee on equestrian headgear and a contributor to the development
of industry standard F1163.90a.
Izzy Strauss graduated from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in
Management Engineering Technology. He spent more than two decades as senior management
with several major apparel companies before helping lead Miller Harness through the next
decade as a Product Division Executive.

In 1997 Frank and Izzy started Intec Performance Gear with a few, affordable and innovative
products to make life better and safer for riders everywhere. Now, after more than ten
successful years, Intec holds numerous equine-related patents and has expanded it's
offering to include hundreds of best-selling equestrian products.
Intec's top-selling lines include Intec horse supplies, Pariani English saddles and
bridles, Mudruckers footwear, M. Toulouse English saddles and bridles, Gladiator horse
clothing and Flex Rider safety and technical horse supplies. Frank and Izzy continue to
design and develop innovative and affordable equestrian goods so that every rider can have
the best of everything!
